Don't look for relief in Connecticut

The embattled Rutgers football team is in Connecticut today for its final American Athletic Conference game in its only season in the league, desparately needing a victory.  But there will be no relief in East Hartford for the Scarlet Knights, who come into the game with an overall mark of 5-5 and an A-A-C record of 2-4, after having lost four of their last five.  Yes, RU is a three-point favorite over the Huskies, who are only 1-9 overall and 1-5 in league.  But UConn is coming off its only win of the year, last week at Temple, just enough to give the Huskies more momentum than the slumping Scarlet Knights.  So, I'm picking Connecticut to beat Rutgers 24-17, despite the Knights' quarterback change from Gary Nova to Chas Dodd.  You can hear the game on the new talk radio, 1450 WCTC and WCTCAM.com, the Voice of Rutgers Football, beginning at 10:30 with the pre-game show "Rutgers Gameday."
