Rutgers will become bowl eligible in a close home win over Cincinnati
Posted 11/16/2013 9:01:00 AM

Following a bye week, the Rutgers football team is back in action this afternoon against Cincinnati in an American Athletic Conference game.  The Scarlet Knights are 5-3 overall and 2-2 in league; the Bearcats are 7-2 overall and 4-1 in conference.  The Las Vegas oddsmakers are calling this a "pick 'em" game.  So, I'm picking the Scarlet to win because of the home field advantage.  Let's say Rutgers 31-28 on a last-minute field goal by the much-maligned Kyle Federico.  How's that to become bowl eligible?!  Kickoff time at High Point Solutions Stadium in Piscataway is noon; coverage begins at 9:30 with Mike Pavlichko on the "Plymouth Rock Assurance Tailgate Party" live outside the North Gate.
