"First and ten" for the Rutgers football team
Posted 8/1/2013 10:24:00 AM

Back on Tuesday, the Rutgers football team was picked to finish third in its only season in the American Athletic Conference.  The media that covers the A-A-C based that prediction on the memories of last season and the off-season college publications and websites.  Thursday, we'll start getting "up close and personal" insight when the Scarlet Knights report to the Hale Center in Piscataway for the beginning of 2013 pre-season camp.  Will second-year head coach Kyle Flood, the reigning Co-Coach of the Year in the old Big East, lead his Scarlet Knights, last year's Co-Champions, to an outright league title and their first bid to a BCS bowl.  It very well could be RU's best shot in the foreseeable future, with a move to the rugged Big Ten in 2014 on the horizon.  Only time will tell...beginning Thursday on the football fields near the banks of the old Raritan.

Welcome to the A-A-C. (Or should we say the "ACK")?

Don't like the AAC? Just watch the NFL and what they're now calling "Rutgers North". Knights are all over the field in Foxboro.

@Peter from Cliffwood Beach No, I am simply waiting for us to get out of this 'mishmash' and into the Big 10. Of course, ti wouldn't hurt if we win as many championships (in all sports) as possible before we leave.
