The Rutgers football team will reach the Promised Land tonite

Years and years of frustration and failure will come to an end for the Rutgers football program tonite when it beats Louisville to win its first-ever Big East championship AND first-ever BCS bowl game berth.  Yes, I pick the Scarlet Knights to beat the Cardinals in a winner-take-all game in Piscataway.  RU is a three-point favorite because of the home field advantage.  Both teams come in at 9-2 overall; the Knights lead UL by one game in conference heading into the regular season finale.  Here's why I pick Rutgers---the Scarlet Knights have a much-better defense which usually makes the difference in these type games.  AND the "D" will be helped out by the fact that Louisville's fine sophomore quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is banged up and less than 100%.  So, I pick Rutgers to win 21-17.  Yes, the Scarlet Knights will be headed to the Promised Land...or more specifically either the Orange Bowl in Miami or the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans.  Kickoff at High Point Solutions Stadium is 7:30; coverage begins at five with Mike Pavlichko on the "Tailgate Party" live outside the North Gate...on the new talk radio, 1450 WCTC and WCTCAM.com, the Voice of Rutgers Football.
