So much for my bad feeling about the Rutgers game at Cincinnati

In this blog earlier today, I had a number of legitimate concerns that led me to pick the Rutgers football team to lose at Cincinnati.  One came to fruition with sophomore quarterback Gary Nova throwing two interceptions that stopped Scarlet Knight drives deep in Bearcat territory.  But another turned out to be a non-issue AND the story of the game when sophomore running back Savon Huggins played THE game of his young collegiate career filling in for starter Jawan Jamison who was battling an ankle injury.  Huggins had career-highs in rushing attempts and yardage---41 carries and 179 yards.  And, then you have the number-one defense in the Big East led by the reigning Player of the Week, fifth-year senior linebacker Khaseem Greene, holding the league's number-one offense to just a field goal, and that came in the final minute.  So, the Scarlet Knights are 5-0 in the Big East for the first time ever and lead idle Louisville by one game with two left including the showdown game in Piscataway on November 29th.  But, first is next Saturday's league game at Pittsburgh.  RU has to be ready for the Panthers and not be guilty of looking ahead to the Cardinals.  Something tells me head coach Kyle Flood won't let that happen.  Kickoff for that game at Heinz Field is noon; coverage begins at 10:30 with the pre-game show "Rutgers Gameday" on the new talk radio, 1450 WCTC and WCTCAM.com, the Voice of the Scarlet Knights.
