It didn't look very good at halftime of Saturday afternoon's Big East football game a Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The 19th-ranked and undefeated Scarlet Knights were going nowhere in a hurry, trailing an upstart, young and talented Temple team 10-0. Whatever was said at halftime, whatever adjustments were made in the lockerrom and whatever leadership was summoned by a veteran team, it all added up to quite a third quarter by RU. Sophomore quarterback Gary Nova threw four straight touchdown passes and fifth-year senior linebacker Khaseem Greene closed out the scoring by returning a fumble 19 yards for a td. 28 of the points came in the third quarter, giving the Knights a 69-3 advantage in that stanza this season. And throw in for good measure a return to 100-yard form by sophomore running back Jawan Jamison who gained 114 yards on 19 carries AND another blocked punt by the special teams. So, it was a second half to remember for Rutgers, which improves to 4-0 in the Big East and 7-0 overall. Next up is Homecoming next Saturday and a matchup with a very good Kent State team out of the Mid-American Conference. Kickoff at High Point Solutions Stadium in Piscataway is 3:30; coverage on the new talk radio, 1450 WCTC and WCTCAM.com, the Voice of the Scarlet Knights begins at one-pm with Mike Pavlichko on the "Tailgate Party", live outside the North Gate.
