Congratulations to Kyle Flood!

I picked Rutgers to win its season opener at Tulane 24-14.  The Scarlet Knights won 24-12.  Not bad for my first time out of the box this season but this is not about me.  It's about Rutgers' new head football coach Kyle Flood!  Congratulations Coach Flood on winning your debut game at the helm of the Knights!  Your running game was outstanding with sophomore Jawan Jamison gaining 112 yards on 18 carries including the first touchdown of the season, a 46-yard jaunt in the second quarter.  Your defense was stellar, holding Tulane to just eight-yards rushing, and scoring a touchdown on a 15-yard interception by fifth-year senior d-back Brandon Jones.  Now, the passing game was a little shaky although sophomore quarterback Gary Nova did close out RU's scoring with a 43-yard touchdown pass to junior Brandon Coleman.  But this is not a night to be picky.  It's all about Kyle Flood winning his first game as the Rutgers head coach.  Now, it's on to Flood's HOME opener next Saturday against Howard.  Kickoff is 3:30pm; coverage begins at one-pm with Mike Pavlichko on "The Tailgate Party", live from the North Gate of High Point Solutions Stadium on the new talk radio, 1450 WCTC and WCTCAM.com, the Voice of Rutgers Football.
