The Rutgers football team plays its 2012 season opener Saturday night at Tulane and the Scarlet Knights are a whopping 20-point favorite over the Green Wave. I really don't believe R-U will cover the spread but I do pick the Knights to win the inaugural game for new head coach Kyle Flood. He's inherited a good part of the Scarlet Knights who led then-head coach Greg Schiano to a 9-4 record in 2011 including a win over Iowa State in the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium. In turn, Tulane first-year head coach Curtis Johnson takes over a Green Wave program that went 2-11 last season. So, I pick Rutgers to win the first game in the Kyle Flood Era by the count of 24-14. Of course, you can hear the game on WCTC beginning at four-pm with "Football USA."
