Lessons we can learn from the Boston Marathon bombings
Posted 4/19/2013 5:52:00 PM

At the time of the writing of this blog, 1 suspect is dead, and the other remains at-large in the Boston Marathon bombings. We saw the horrific images late Monday afternoon of 2 homemade bombs exploding near the finish line of the Boston Marathon, and we all conjured up images of who was behind them. Depending on your ideaology, you mave have instantly thought persons of Middle Easten origin were to blame. Or maybe someone who more closely resembled Timothy McVeigh, a natural-born US citizen who looked like the kid next door, and you would think the worst offense of his life would be constantly batting a Wiffle ball into your backyard. But what went though your mind when we got word these men were immigrants from Kyrgyzstan? The bottom line, no matter where on the world these guys came from, is we need to remember that this is a new society we live in. Our planet is now a "global village" thanks to the Internet and social media. In these nearly 12 years since the attacks of 9/11, people form all corners of the globe have been granted admission to the U.S. Some with very good intentions, and others know. Here's the thing we all need to remember; keep you eyes open, keep your guard up, and remember that there is still plenty of GOOD in this world.
