Between 1989 and 1990, my family experienced a desperate need for home health care.

With my recently widowed sister suddenly diagnosed with terminal cancer at age 39, my wife and I took her and her two sons into our home. At about the same time, our own son, Ryan, was born with serious health problems. Through this heart-wrenching time, we were constantly looking for consistent home health care for both my sister and our son. We found it difficult to find qualified and committed caregivers who could tend to our family's needs.

Our personal story did not have a happy ending; my sister and son passed away within months of each other. But it was this experience that made me realize the importance of obtaining quality home health care.

In 1993, I put my other business interests aside and focused my energy on a home health care agency that provided both companion and medical nursing care in my home state of New Jersey. I set out to create a concept that would provide the highest degree of care and better service for those in need of home health care.

PHHC Offers Continuing Home Health Education Classes

EATONTOWN, N.J., March 5, 2012 -Regarded as one of the best home health care agencies in the region, Preferred Home Health Care & Nursing Services (PHHC) continues to demonstrate its commitment to excellence in the industry by offering monthly classes for individuals striving to become state certified home health aides.

The classes follow the guidelines set forth by the New Jersey Board of Nursing. Students who successfully complete these requirements receive State certification. PHHC also offers weekend conversion classes to certified nurses aides who wish to be certified as a home health aide. Students who wish to participate must have an active certification from the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services.

"These courses help those in the medical profession to sharpen their skills and learn from dedicated and knowledgeable professionals," noted Ellen Stone, RN, BSN, certification program coordinator. "People who are interested in joining one of the fastest growing occupations should inquire about appropriate training. Additionally, in many cases, students who complete courses with PHHC may be eligible for employment through the company."

Additional classes are also offered to our home health care nursing staff, which includes a variety of topics such as tracheostomy care, ventilator support, and wound vacuum equipment training. Both initial and renewal CPR certification courses are also offered monthly.
