Middlesex Vicinage to Conduct Criminal and Juvenile Record
A free workshop on how to expunge a criminal record:
Where: The New Brunswick Public Library, 60 Livingston Ave., New Brunswick.
When: Monday, April 22 from 6 to 8 p.m.
The workshop will provide participants with information on recent changes in the expungement law, who is eligible for expungement, which types of convictions can be expunged, how an expungement is filed, and what happens at an expungement hearing. Local attorneys will be available to answer general questions about the process.
Forms and instructions will be provided to participants who want to file as self-represented litigants. Because this is an informational workshop only, no personal cases can be discussed or resolved.
The workshop is free and is open to all Middlesex County residents. Call Luis Hernandez, ombudsman, at 732-519-3344 to reserve a seat.
The workshop is sponsored by the Middlesex Vicinage of Superior Court, the Middlesex County Bar Association, the NAACP, PRAB, and the Middlesex Vicinage Minority Concerns Committee.
