The Raritan Valley Rail Coalition gets an update on one-seat rides into Manhattan on Monday

When the Raritan Valley Rail Coalition meets Monday morning in Somerville, the group will get an update on new rail service into Manhattan.  After years of pushing for it, commuters on NJ Transit's Raritan Valley line finally got a one-seat ride into the Big Apple on March third, as part of a pilot program.  Officials with Amtrak, which owns part of that rail line, will be on hand at Monday morning's 8:30 meeting to report on how it's going, as well as on a host of other topics, including the proposed Gateway Tunnel, and improvements to the portal bridge and the Northeast Corridor Line.  Today's meeting is being held in the third-floor freeholders' meeting room at the Somerset County Administration Building on Grove Street in downtown Somerville.
