Another rise in Central Jersey gas prices, but they're still a relative bargain

4/10/2015

Gas prices are up for a seventh straight week in Central Jersey, but not much, and they're still almost a dollar cheaper than they were heading into last Memorial Day weekend.  Here are the Central Jersey averages, followed by the AAA national average for the week ending May 22nd:

     Regular - Central Jersey: $2.45, up 2-cents; National:  $2.73, up 5-cents.
     Mid-grade - Central Jersey:  $2.74, up 3-cents; National:  $2.94, up 5-cents.
     Premium - Central Jersey:  $2.92, up 3-cents; National:  $3.12, up 5-cents.

Local averages are calculated using the prices at ten gas stations in Edison, Franklin, New Brunswick, North Brunswick and South Brunswick.  The national average is calculated by using the AAA's fuel gauge report, which can be found here.
