Week 3 Top 10 finds Piscataway on top again
For the fourth straight week, Piscataway is the Number One team in WCTC's Central Jersey High School Football Top Ten.  The biggest mover was Hillsborough, which jumped three spots to third after winning its third straight game to start the season 3-0.  Following is the Week 3 Top Ten, with teams followed by current record and previous ranking:  1. Piscataway (3-0, 1);  2. South Brunswick (3-0, 2);  3. Hillsborough (3-0, 6);  4. Sayreville (2-1, 3);  5. Carteret (2-1, 5);  6. Old Bridge (2-1, 4);  7. Monroe (2-1, 7);  8. Colonia (3-0, 8);  9. Piscataway remains Number One in Week One Top Ten
The Piscataway Chiefs remain atop the WCTC Central Jersey High School Football Top Ten, thanks to a 48-0 season-opening win over East Brunswick, their 24th straight over the Bears.  Following are the Week One rankings, with record and previous rank in parenthesis:  1. Piscataway (1-0, 1);  2. South Brunswick (1-0, 2);  3. Sayreville (1-0, 3);  4. Carteret (1-0, 5);  5. Old Bridge, 1-0, 6);  6. Monroe (1-0, NR);  7. South Plainfield (1-0, NR);  8. Central Jersey High School Football is back on WCTC Saturday afternoon!
On the opening weekend of high school football in the Greater Middlesex Conference and Somerset County, 1450 WCTC is back on the air with our first broadcast of the season, when the South River Rams visit the No. 9 Metuchen Bulldogs in a GMC Blue Division Contest.  Join Mike Pavlichko and Max Scheiner for the call, with kickoff from Metuchen High School scheduled for 1 pm.  The Rams are without star runningback Doug Ryan, who broke his leg in a preseason scrimmage, while the Bulldogs are led by a pair of dual-threat quarterbacks and head coach Bob Ulmer, now in the second year of his second tour of duty in Metuchen. Piscataway tops WCTC's preseason rankings
For the third time in the last four seasons, Piscataway is the preseason Number One team in the WCTC Central Jersey High School Football Top Ten.  Following are the preseason rankings.  The season begins for the vast majority of GMC and Somerset County teams this coming weekend, September 12th and 13th, with our broadcast schedule on 1450 WCTC and wctcam.com beginning Saturday at 1 pm when #9 Metuchen entertains South River.  Teams below are followed by their 2013 record and final 2013 ranking): 1. Piscataway (7-4, 5);  2. South Brunswick (7-4, 3);  3. Sayreville (8-3, 2);  4. St. Joseph-Metuchen (9-1, 4);  5. Carteret (8-3, 7);  6. Old Bridge (7-3, 6);  7. Ridge (11-0, 1);  8. Central Jersey High School Football gets bigger and better in 2014!
Central Jersey High School Football on WCTC will be bigger and better than ever this fall!  Our regular season schedule features 10 area games featuring teams from Middlesex and Somerset Counties, capped off with the return of the WCTC Thanksgiving Day Round Robin, a longstanding tradition that last graced the airwaves in 2003.  In addition, halftime segments will highlight the "Top Ten Games of the Last 15 Years on WCTC."  They include state title games and regular season games.  They include wild finishes, program-affirming victories, and legendary storylines.  Listen in for a blast from the not-too-distant past.  We'll count them down from ten starting with our opening game on Saturday, September 13th, and replay each segment on that weekend's Football USA, heard every Saturday during the Rutgers football season.  The 2014 schedule is as follows:  Saturday, September 13 - South River at Metuchen, 1pm.  Saturday, October 4 - Asbury Park at Middlesex, 1pm.  Friday, October 10 - JFK at Bishop Ahr, 7pm.  Saturday, October 11 - Keansburg at Metuchen, 2pm.  Friday, October 17 - Union at Hillsborough, 7pm.  Friday, October 24 - Piscataway at Sayreville, 7pm.  Friday, October 31 - South Brunswick at Piscataway, 7pm.  Friday, November 7 - Old Bridge at Piscataway, 7pm.  Saturday, November 8 - Highland Park at South River, 2pm.  Wednesday, November 26 - St. Joseph of Metuchen at Bishop Ahr, 7pm.Thursday, November 27 - Thanksgiving Day Round Robin, 10am.  Keep it tuned to 1450 WCTC and wctcam.com for all the exciting action of Central Jersey High School Football this fall!
