An Edison man is charged in an alleged prostitution ring

3/1/2013

New Jersey's attorney general says an Edison man has been charged with allegedly running a high-priced prostitution ring. Authorities say 35-year-old Percival R. Williams allegedly used violence and threats to enslave women. Police say he often solicited girls in the Cleveland, Ohio area to work in his New Jersey operation. Williams faces charges including human trafficking, promoting prostitution, theft and conspiracy. He was arrested Tuesday in Dallas and is being held in Texas pending extradition. Police say Williams and his girlfriend, 23-year-old Chanell "Asha" Vaughn, allegedly supplemented their business by having Vaughn steal $500,000 worth of uncut diamonds from a client at New York City's Cosmopolitan Hotel. Vaughn was arrested Thursday at Williams' New Jersey home.
